Fairmined gold is gold that, in addition to being mined under the strict standards of Fairmined Certification, which considers social development, fair treatment, and equitable payment, also takes a step further in eliminating the use of mercury or cyanide in the mining process. This gold is not only responsible with regard to human rights, but also with regard to the environment and the Amazon.
The Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) was founded in 2004 and is the leading global organization on artisanal and small-scale mining. They work to transform the sector into a socially and environmentally responsible activity, while improving the quality of life of small-scale miners, their families, and communities.
