Sapphire

Sapphire is the second hardest substance on earth after diamond. Its name comes from the Persian word “Safir,” derived from the Greek word for blue.

While blue is the most traditional and classic color, there are a variety of different colors of sapphire.

Throughout history, sapphire has symbolized truth, sincerity, and loyalty. It is also believed to bring peace, joy, and wisdom to its wearer. The ancients considered star sapphires to be powerful talismans that could protect travelers and seekers. Sapphire was called the “Stone of Destiny” and is believed to contribute to clarity of mind and perception.
